Most of the existing staff was laid off, but some were reassigned to other facilities. Those taken into custody in North Las Vegas are now placed in the Las Vegas Detention Center.

When taken into custody, some inmates will be placed in this facility. Located at 330 South Casino Blvd, Las Vegas, Nevada. This jail is known as the Clark County Detention Center. Clark County is the largest of the lockups in Las Vegas, and the tall towers of the center are clearly visible behind the Golden Nugget Casino. While the lobby of CCDC is open 24 hours a day, the bail window for the center is only open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. at night.

This holding facility, also known as the Las Vegas Jail, is perhaps the most intimidating of the city’s lockups. Located at 3300 Stuart Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada. this facility is clearly visible from the highway. Huge walls and razor-sharp barbed wire surround it. The bail window for this jail is open 24 hours per day, and it also offers a prisoner’s search option that allows others to search for those who have been arrested.

The Henderson Detention Center is located just behind the courthouse at 10 Basic Road, Henderson, Nevada. People wanting to post bail or make inquiries about the arrest of someone may do so 24 hours per day at Henderson. With its medical services, mental health services, dental services, and its low staff to prisoner ratio, this is considered by some to be the nicest of Nevada’s holding facilities. If someone was incarcerated, this would be the jail of preference.
The popular turn of phrase is, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,” is meant to imply that one can engage in questionable behavior without guilt because no one will know. People just need to make sure that the behavior isn’t illegal or they just might end up arrested and placed in one of these jails.
